Kittens are such petite and adorable pets. They are born after 64-67 days in their mother cat’s womb. When the cats finally give birth, kittens are still inside the plastic-like sac called amnion which should be bitten off immediately by the mother cat or else the kitten would die of suffocation. Like humans, kittens need the milk from their mother to have anti-bodies.

So it’s not advisable to take them away from the mother for at least 6 weeks after they were born. Pet owners should not feed the kittens the milk from the cow because their kind (cats) is lactose intolerant. Cow’s milk would cause them diarrhea. Kittens can eat small amounts of softened cat foods after four weeks, though they still need to feed on their mother’s milk.

But gradually they would learn to be on their own when their mother cat begins to scatter them. Kittens are very sociable and playful animals and starts interacting when they reached their third month. When a kitten is only eight weeks or younger, it is still illegal to give them away or be sold by the breeders. By the age of two months, these little furry creatures should get vaccinations against rabies and common illnesses for cats.
